High enthusiasm was shown by the capital city citizens in watching 2013 Jakarnaval exhibition conducted to enliven Jakarta`s 486th anniversary. This is apparent from the massive amount of citizens flocking the carnival area on Jl Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jl MH Thamrin until HI Roundabout.
Based on beritajakarta.com observations, thousands of citizens, be it young or old, are occupying the left and right sides of the road to watch Jakarnaval parade since 1 PM. The Pedestrian Bridge in front of Bank Indonesia was also full with citizens who want to watch the carnival.
Yuli (39), a Tomang citizen, West Jakarta said she and her family intentionally came to watch 2013 Jakarnaval held by Jakarta Provincial Government. "We rented a car, so everyone in the family could come and watch. I have been told that it would be fun," told Yuli, Sunday (6/30).
According to Yuli, such an event is rare. Aside from cheap, it was also entertaining. "Such an event would not be held again anytime soon. We are pleased, because it is indeed fun," she explained.
Ridwan (45), a citizen of Jl Rasuna Said, Kuningan stated so far, each and every event precipitated by Jakarta Governor, Joko Widodo has always been great and entertaining, especially for middle-lower citizens. "I just found out about the event this morning. Then I brought my family here," he furthered.
Ridwan added the ranges of event held to commemorate Jakarta`s anniversary this year were very lively. "We are happy to see it. Event like this should be held more often. Many of us are thirsty for entertainment. This is good for underprivileged citizens like us," he finished.
