The race of 2013 Jakarta 10-Kilometers run in Silang Monas, Central Jakarta, run festive. This annual event was officially opened by Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, by involving 35 thousand of participants. As previous years, Kenyan runner again dominated the Jakarta 10K run on Sunday (6/23) with Silas Kipruto for international male’s category and Tanzanian runner, Zakia Mohamed Mrisho for international female’s category.
As the fastest man in the national sector won by Jauhari Johan from South Sumatera and national female’s category won by Triyaningsih.
Head of Jakarta Sports and Youth Department, Ratiyono said Jakarta 10K competition has been begin since 2004 ago. “The event is held in conjunction with the celebration of Jakarta’s 486th anniversary. Each year we continue to improve this event, so this year its implementation goes lively and got support from various parties,” he told, Sunday (6/23).
He disclosed, the prize of Jakarta 10K to the race winner is increasing. In details, the first prize for male and female runners in international category will get USD 6,000 as coaching money, where it is increasing compared to last year with USD 1,000.
"The prize for the winner of male and female runners in the national category is amounting to Rp 40 million or increasing compared to last year which reached Rp 25 million. Hopefully at a similar event in the next year, the prize will rise again,” he hoped.
