Members of TransJakarta Bus Drivers Union (SPTB) came to the City Hall to meet Deputy Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama, Friday (4/26). They were demanding for salary equivalency like other colleagues of TransJakarta bus drivers in corridor I (Blok M-Kota). Moreover, Basuki has stated that TransJakarta bus driver’s salary would be increased 3.5 times of 2013 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) as much as Rp 2.2 million.
SPTB Chairman, Lasdi, said the salary raise of TransJakarta bus drivers as much as 3.5 times of 2013 UMP is imposed by Damri as a new TransJakarta bus operator. Whereas, Damri only serves in corridor I (Blok M-Kota) and corridor XI (Kampungmelayu-Pulogebang), while TransJakarta bus drivers are incorporated in various operators, namely PT JET, PT JMT, PT JTM, PT TB, PT PP, PT Lorena, PT BMP and PT TMB. For those incorporated not in Damri, they only received salary raise of one time UMP.
“We demand for salary equivalency with TransJakarta bus drivers in corridor I. If our salary is not equated, this is discrimination policy. We came to the City Hall to question this unjust policy, why our salary is not raised?” told Lasdi at the City Hall, Friday (4/26).
According to Lasdi, PT BMP, which is also the operator of TransJakarta bus, gives salary to its drivers in the amount of Rp 1.6 million per January 1, 2013.
Meanwhile, Deputy Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama said that his meeting with former Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso and SPTB was only discussing about TransJakarta bus drivers. “We only talked about TransJakarta bus drivers,” he finished.
