The Jakarta Islamic Center (JIC) prepares at least 1,000 packages of takjil (food to break the fast) every day for fast breaking time during Ramadan 1433 H. These packages are dedicated for Muslims, disadvantaged people (dhuafa), wayfarer, etc.
Senior Staff of Tamir JIC, Darmi AR, said takjil packages consist of package rice, kurma, cookies and beverages. “Every year, we routinely prepare takjil for fast breaking time during Ramadan. On the first day of fasting, 650 takjil packages were distributed to 850 people, with details 450 for adult and the rest 200 for children. Hopefully, 1,000 packages can be distributed on the next day,” he said, Sunday (7/22).
The mosque staff will eventually prioritize takjil distribution to pilgrims who pray at the mosque.
The pilgrims are prohibited to eat takjil, especially package rice inside the mosque despite they can get it freely. This is aimed to maintain cleanliness and create comfort for the other pilgrims. That is why mosque staffs have provided special room at the bottom of the mosque. “The budget for takjil provision is obtained from donators and JIC pilgrims,” told Darmi.
Besides distributing takjil, 28 programs are also prepared by Staff of JIC Amaliyah Ramadan, such as rawatib prayer (sunnah prayer that accompanies fardhu prayers), study before fast breaking time, JIC PADU (edutainment), breaking fast together, tadarus (reading the Koran), tarawih (evening prayer) speech, lessons about Ramadan, dzuhur course, alms and charity (ZIS) service, Islam lessons live on JIC’s Radio, Ramadan book fair, and Ramadan nestle bazaar.
Meanwhile, the agendas of Superior Ramadan consist of Campus Talk Show (July 23-August 7), Dacil on JIC Radio (July 23-August 4), Book Talk Show about GALAU Short Story (July 25), Al-Quran Miracle (August 6) and Encyclopedia of Islamic Civilization, TAZKIA (August 10) Qalbu Lingustic Programing (QLP) (August 14), Tausiyah (religious advice) and Zikir (prayer recital) together with Ustadz Arifin Ilham (July 27), Jambore Ramadan (July 28-29), Islam Business Inspiration IIBF, Siyadhu no. 3 (August 4-5), simaan Al-Quran (August 4), Nuzulul Quran 1433 H (August 4), Dream Fetch Training (August 9), communal fast-breaking and compensation distribution for the orphans in Jakarta (August 9), 10-day I’tikaf known as silent praying in a mosque, Gema Takbir of Eid Ul Fitr 1433 H and Eid Ul Fitr Prayer.
