The counting of ballots recapitulation in the 2012 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election is currently being implemented on city/regency level right now. In East Jakarta, from 10 sub-districts available, the pair of Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Basuki Tjahaya Purnama (Ahok) won in 8 sub-districts, namely Matraman, Pulogadung, Jatinegara, Pasarrebo, Cakung, Durensawit, Makasar, and Ciracas. Meanwhile, the pair of Fauzi Bowo-Nachrowi Ramli (Nara) only won in two sub-districts, namely Kramatjati and Cipayung.
Head of East Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU), Chairil Anwar, said the pair of Jokowi-Ahok earned the most ballots in East Jakarta in the amount of 502,616 ballots, while the pair of Fauzi Bowo-Nara occupied the second place by earning 438,393 ballots. On the third place, the pair of Hidayat Nur Wahid-Didik J Rachbini earned 163,361 ballots, followed by the pair of Faisal Basri-Biem Benyamin with 67,205 ballots. On the fifth and last places were Alex Noerdin-Nono Sampono with 54,262 ballots and Hendardji Supandji-Riza Patria with 25,042 ballots.
“We have finished counting ballots on the level of East Jakarta Administration City. The result is pair number three, Jokowi-Ahok, got the highest vote,” stated Anwar at Desa Wisata TMII Hotel, Tuesday (7/17).
The amount of valid votes reaches 1,251,243 votes and invalid votes 27,277 from a total of 1,278,520 votes. The implementation of plenary meeting for ballots counting recapitulation in East Jakarta Administration City level ran relatively conducive and orderly.
“There had been a protest from the witness of Jokowi-Ahok about due to there was a difference in invalid votes in Matraman Sub-District. But, it can finally be handled. Overall, the plenary meeting today ran smoothly,” said Anwar.
