About 899 pilgrims of Jakarta embarkation first and second batch flied from Soekarno Hatta Hajj Airport, Tangerang, Banten heading to the holy land of Mecca. From the overall 899 pilgrims, 449 pilgrims consist of 206 men and 243 women who were released directly by Religion Minister Suryadharma Ali, those pilgrims are the first departure group. Meanwhile, the 450 pilgrims who were departed in the afternoon is the second departure group.
He said that the first departure group of Jakarta embarkation will fly on Garuda Indonesia plane with flight number G 7201. "There are 449 Jakarta pilgrims in first departure," he expressed, Sunday (10/2).
For the second departure group of Jakarta embarkation was flown at 1 pm by Saudi Arabian Airlines which accommodate 450 pilgrims. He suggested the pilgrims to maintain health by not forgetting to bring personalized medicine due the extreme weather that is sometimes very cold, but sometimes hot as heat reaches 40 degrees and a sudden icy rain that could happen in the afternoon of the holy land of Mecca.
"Ensuring pilgrims’ health, the government has prepared medical teams who are equipped with several ambulance stationed in Madinah, Mecca, and Jeddah and are ready to serve the pilgrims," he described.
Besides Jakarta embarkation, other 9 pilgrims’ embarkation also departed, such as Surabaya, Palembang, Solo, West Java, Aceh, Balikpapan, Padang, Batam and Medan.
He also stated that this year his party focuses on improving the service for pilgrims, such as accommodation in which 93 percent accommodation places are close to the location where the pilgrims perform worships. "The efforts are meant to maintain health in performing religious activities so they are not worn out much as fatigue is also one of the pilgrims’ major problems,” he stated.
