urged the furniture factory as the source of fire incident burning a
factory building, two cars, a house, and four rented house, should be
immediately closed. The factory which has been burned twice in the last
one year is considered to threaten the safety of citizens and it stands
in an area of residential area.
“This is the second case and we become the victims again. We urge the
factory to be closed or moved,” said Wahyudi, a victim whose house was

residents have become victims. "We ask for compensation. Many of our

The information gathered by beritajakarta.com, says the fire incident
which burned the furniture factory at 4.30 a.m was allegedly caused by
electrical short circuit. The extinction process carried out by 25 fire
engines took long time because there were many flammable goods in the
factory. Even, the officers have to struggle to extinguish the fire
until 7.30 a.m. and it has not completely extinguished yet.
"There are many plastic materials for furniture in the factory, so smoke
makes us difficult. But the fire that spread to the residents` houses
has been put down," said Frans Silalahi, Daily executive of West Jakarta
fire and Disaster Management Agency.
Besides burning the factory and residents` houses, Frans said, the fire
also burned two cars; pick-up and Suzuki APV which were parked at the
factory area. Fortunately, there was no causality in that incident.
However, the loss was estimated to reach hundreds of millions rupiah.
"For more detail, the case is currently under investigation by the
