There are 250 Headtruck Operators of PT Jakarta International Container Terminal North Jakarta holding a protest in City Council Jakarta, Wednesday (11/25). They ask the government to erase outsourcing system which is very disadvantageous for the workers. Their company also terminates employment contracts without clear reasons.
Sudimanto for the company forum hopes the city council will be able to supervise and help solving the case and asks Jakarta Dept. of Manpower and Transmigration to make an agreement related to the case. “We need support from city council and commitment of manpower and transmigration agency,” he said.
On his meeting with city council members, he adds that based on Act No 13/2003 about Manpower, main activity or effort which is related to production process must not apply outsourcing system.
“Even though we’re not in production process, but we should get the same right,” he adds. According to him, the number of company workers is 320 people.
Selamat Nurdin for Commission B promises to help and facilitate the workers, discussing with the company and PT Pilia Mandiri Sejahtera as the outsourcing company, manpower and transportation agency, sub-agency, and North Jakarta mayor.
He suggests the workers to get help from Commission V because the company which was known as Pelindo II is managed by Commission V. He promised Commission B will hold a meeting with the company next week.
Deded Sukandar for Jakarta Dept. of Manpower and Transmigration states that a lot of companies are running illegal outsourcing system and absolutely against the regulation. “The regulation has managed outsourcing system well, but they could not able to implement it well,” he states.
