| Personnel to check Qurban animals, Central JakartaBERITAJAKARTA.COM — 11/20/2009 6:57:02 PM
Seven days toward Idul Adha, the Central Jakarta Sub-Dept. of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry is still checking the animal husbandry for qurban at eight sub-districts in Central Jakarta. It is aimed to make sure the animal’s health to be sold for the society.
“The animal’s checking has been held since yesterday,” Heri Indyanto for Section of Animal Husbandry, Friday (11/20).
The health checking is needed to detect and check the administration of animal. The animal must not be sold if it has no administration letter from the region. The personnel are also checking whether the animal meets the requirement or not to be sold. “We’ll give special sticker if the animal husbandry is passing the checking,” he added.
At this moment, the agency has patched 50 stickers at animal husbandry at eight sub-districts in Central Jakarta. The number of animal husbandry is less than last year`s number. “As many as 60 samples have been tested and the results are negative from Anthrax,” he continued.
The agency will also check the meat after slaughtering process. In order to support this effort, 102 personnel; 55 from agency, 30 university students, 14 personnel from dept. of maritime and animal husbandry, 3 from directorate general of animal husbandry, and 2 from Indonesia Vet Association will be involved. The personnel will be spread to 140 slaughtering locations especially in big mosques in Central Jakarta.
