The Jakarta Vice Governor Tuesday (11/3) has visited and checked six pump buildings to see the readiness of those pump in facing rainy season and flood attack. Prijanto has given appreciation to Sunter Timur Pump House, North Jakarta because of its cleanliness. For other pump houses, Prijanto asks the mayor to check them.
Sunter Timur Pump House, North Jakarta, is the last pump house visited by Prijanto. Prijanto salutes the building due to its clean environment and good maintenance.
“Kodamar is very clean. I love this place and it should be made as an example for other pump houses. High appreciation must be given for this place,” said Prijanto.
The appreciation has been given by Prijanto to the operator and Kodamar Pump Building management. He asked the condition to be maintained to tackle the flood well.
According to Prijanto, Kodamar Pump Building has 8 ha of wide by catchment area 200 ha. There are three flood tackling pump units with capacity of 1.3 m³/s for each pump placed inside. It means, the total capacity to absorb the water is 3.9 m³/s. “All pumps can function well. The pumps will absorb water quickly in rainy season,” Prijanto added.
Not only Kodamar, Prijanto together with Budi Widiantoro for Jakarta Dept. of Public Works also visit Melati Reservoir Pump House (central Jakarta), Cideng Pump House (Central Jakarta), Tomang Barat Pump House (West Jakarta), Sunter Utara Pump House, and Sunter Selatan Pump House (North Jakarta). All the pumps at those locations can function well.
Melati Reservoir Pump House has 9 water pumps, 4 of them with absorbing capacity 1 m³/s and the other 4 pumps with 1.3 m³/s, and one pump with with 4 m ³/s. The polder functions to absorb the water in Sudirman, Thamrin, Menteng, and Tanah Abang areas.
In Cideng Pump House, Prijanto saw the development of four new pumps with absorbing capacity 2 m³/s. The allocation for those four pumps is Rp 30 billion,” he continued. The effort is targeted to be done in mid December 2009.
Tomang Barat Pump House has 6 ha of wide and 200 ha of service area with total capacity 10.8 m³/s; four pumps with capacity 1 m³/s each, and four others with capacity 1.7 m³/s.
Sunter Utara Pump House has 32 ha of wide and 1,250 ha of service area with total capacity of 5 pumps is 20 m³/s comprising three pumps with capacity 3.3 m³/s each and 2 pumps with capacity 5 m³/s each.
Sunter Selatan Pump House has 25.9 ha of wide and 586 ha of area service with total capacity 15 m³/s from six pumps, and one unit by 2.5 m³/s.
As reported before, the Jakarta City Administration has 308 units of pump with capacity of absorbing water is 330.12 m³/s. That is why Prijanto instruct Dept. of Public Works to map the spread of water pumps in each area to be reported to mayors.
