East Jakarta to prepare 50 health posts

BERITAJAKARTA.COM — 10/27/2009 8:23:45 PM

Anticipating the flood impact is not so easy, but the effort should not be stopped. The East Jakarta Administration has anticipated to minimize the flood impact. The area has 26 flood points.

It is because East Jakarta is passed by six rivers like Ciliwung, Cipinang, Sunter, Jatikramat, Cakung, and Buaran. Several always-flooded areas are Cawang, Bidaracina, Kampungmelayu, Cipinangbesar Utara, Kayuputih, and Cipinangmelayu.

One way to anticipate the flood is building 50 health posts in each sub-district. Paripurna Harimuda for East Jakarta Sub-Dept. of Health said that each sub-district should prepare 4-5 posts based on the flood points and the location will be decided by the personnel to be reached easily by the society.

“The service is free and the society will get medicine, tents, and velbed. We’re also preparing 10 ambulances and 300 personnel from Disaster Alert Youth,” said Harimuda, Tuesday (10/27).

The post to be built is similar with one in disaster rehearsal held in Borobudur University, Cipinangmelayu, Sunday (10/25). The victim will get free medical treatment there.

Meanwhile, Murni Hayati for East Jakarta Section of Health Service stated that the posts will not be built at the same time. It will be based on the condition in each area.

“The agency will also prepare rubber boats even though each sub-district has one rubber boat,” Hayati stated.
