Ciliwung River is again overflowed, Monday (11/18), because of the water flood from Bogor, which locally known as banjir kiriman. As a result, tens of houses in three RWs in Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-District, East Jakarta, are inundated for as high as 40-100 centimeters.
Heru (40), resident of RT 004/03 Kampung Pulo, told that water came in at midnight around 1 AM. Because of that, the residents who were sleeping soundly at that time had to move their belongings to the upper level of their houses.
Although their houses are inundated, the residents are still doing their activities normally. To help them, styrofoam boats were brought from Kampung Melayu Urban Village office at 5.30 AM. The boats are operated by using rope which tied elongated in every aisle.
Kampung Melayu Urban Village staff, Edi Pasinama, informed that the three RWs inundated are RW 01, 02, and 03. In RW 01, flood inundates RT 13 and 10. In RW 02, the RTs inundated are RT 08 and 09. And in RW 03, flood inundates RT 03, 04, 05, 10, and 16.
“Flood today only inundates three RWs and tens of houses. So far, no residents are evacuating, so logistics aid is yet given to residents,” he stated, Monday (11/18).
