Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama gives go-ahead to United Development Party (PPP) of Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) to report him to Home Affairs Minister. “Just do it, PPP to send a letter to Home Affairs Minister and the president to fire me,” he stated, Friday (8/30).
This statement of Basuki was conveyed to respond the statement of PPP Fraction Jakarta Legislative Council member, Maman Firmansyah, who requested council leader to immediately summon Basuki because he was deemed to have been harassing legislative institution during plenary meeting of Jakarta Legislative Council. However, Basuki is optimistic that council leader would not send him reprimand letter because of not enough reason.
Basuki assessed that summoning him is not quite right, because the one who supposed to be summoned is the governor who represents the institution. “That’s funny, forcing council leader to summon me. Summon me for what? Violating the rules? If the council leader really was summoning me, that would be not right. The council would not respond PPP fraction’s request,” he asserted.
Maman Firmansyah, a member of PPP Fraction in Jakarta Legislative Council, during plenary meeting on Friday (8/30), said that his party has sent a letter to council leader to summon Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama. According to PPP, there was Basuki’s statement that harassing the council, and violating Law No. 32/2004 as well as Home Affairs Ministry Regulation No. 24/2011 about task implementation of governor and vice governor authority.
