In order to anticipate fire incident and any diseases, tens of Satpol PP personnel for Pademangan Sub-District, North Jakarta, demolished a used goods warehouse along under Ancol Toll, Jl. Lodan Raya, Pademangan, North Jakarta. As a result, the officers successfully picked up used goods up to 5 trucks in the location.
Head of Pademangan Sub-District Satpol PP, Leonardo Sitorus, said the warehouse did not have building permit and under toll becomes chaotic. “The demolition run smoothly due to there was no protest from the owner. The officers were assisted by 90 joint personnel of Satpol PP, taskforce, security and public order, and Pademangan Sector Police,” he expressed, Wednesday (11/21).
According to him, the toll road underside was utilized by the surrounding citizens to keep used goods, and abodes. The used goods consist of cardboard boxes, wooden logs, papers, fabrics, iron and zinc plates. “We gathered the goods until it is about 5 truckloads, and demolished the illegal shacks. The amount of used goods and shacks increased gradually. Therefore, we control them so the amount will not increase even more,” he stated.
Before demolition, he continued, his side has sent a notification letter three times in period of 7x24 hour, 3x34 hour and 1x24 hour to the warehouse’s owner. The demolition is strengthened with Bylaw No.8/2007 about Public Order. “The used goods from warehouse will be transported to East Jakarta Cakung Warehouse and then disposed to Bantargebang, Bekasi,” he told.
To anticipate similar thing, Sitorus will deploy 30 personnel to patrol and monitor along under toll everyday. “For a week, we’ll guard here, and then conducted monitoring. If there is found used goods warehouse and illegal huts, we will continue demolishing them,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, Yayan (34), one of the used goods owners could only accept the fact that his used goods were confiscated by the authorities. This is because the land he occupied is not his. “I was confused as to where should I store the goods. It is all right, because the goods are used and cannot be sold,” he finished.
