The percentage of abstain (golput) is predicted decreasing because many candidates of governor and deputy governor who compete in Jakarta Regional Head Election (pemilukada). Moreover, there are two pairs from independent way.
In 2007 regional elections (Pilkada), there were only 64.01 percent of Jakarta residents who voted in pilkada. This means 35.99 percent of Jakarta residents were categorized as abstain. For this year, the voter is predicted to reach 77.23 percent.
“This year, the voter can reach 77.23 percent in pemilukada,” said Director of Strategic Development and Policy Study Center (Puskaptis), Husin Yazin during a press conference, Jl Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Sunday (4/15).
The six pairs of governor and deputy governor candidates are considered can represent the diversity of Jakarta residents. The difference in the aspect of profession, ethnic, religion and age will be magnetism for voter. “Yet, for Tionghoa ethnic andw non-Muslim are never represented in pemilukada, such as deputy governor candidate Basuki Tjahaya Purnama (Ahok),” he told.wt is also caused by the high of public knowledge about 2012 pemilukada. Last January, Puskaptis has surveyed knowledge level only reached 42.76 percent. Yet, it is significantly increasing up to 92.93 percent in early April after Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU) held socialization. Thus, 92.93 percent can be predicted to reach 100 percent in the remaining last two months.
Puskaptis has conducted socialization with 1,250 respondents of Jakarta residents who have right to vote through the survey of Multistage Random Sampling with sampling error by 2.8 percent. The survey is conducted in the period of April 2-7, 2012 with interview method. | |
