As form of attention toward workers, Jakarta Provincial Government through Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department urges all companies to give the Eid ul Fitr allowance (THR) to their employees seven days before Eid (H-7). It is also the provision of Indonesia Republic Manpower Minister Regulation No. PER.04/MEN/1994 dated September 16, 1994 about religious allowance for workers in company. “In Jakarta, the THR will also be given on H-7,” stated Head of Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department, Deded Sukendar, Thursday (8/11).
He continued that the THR is given to worker in accordance with their working period. For those who have working for 12 months or more will receive THR amounting one month of salary. Meanwhile, those who work less than 12 months will be given proportional THR with working period where working period divided 12 and multiplied with one month salary.
Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo said still stick to the Governor Regulation No. 196/2010 about Provincial Minimum Salary (UMP). For 2011 UMP, it has increased by 15.38 percent from 2010 UMP which was only Rp 1.118.009 per month. “Minimum salary applied in Jakarta for 2011 is Rp 1,290,000 per month,” he explained.
He also denied if the loading and unloading labor (TKBM) in Tanjung Priok received salary under Jakarta UMP. UMP is monthly lowest salary received by worker which consists of basic salary including permanent subsidy. “Salary amount received by worker with casual employment system such as TKBM is based on an agreement through bipartite between worker and entrepreneur where salary payment is based on attendance list,” he stressed.
