Jakarnaval, event to enliven Jakarta`s 484th Anniversary will be more merry since number of participants will be bigger compared to last year, and held together with Car Free Day, Sunday (6/26). Jakarnaval is showing Betawi art and culture, decorated car, etc. The number of participants is 2,650 people or 100 percent higher compared to last year by 1,000 people.
"Jakarta has its own interest as tourism and cultural destination. The event will take place in National Monument-MH Thamrin," said Jakarta Vice Dept. of Tourism and Cultural, Tinia Budiarti, at City Hall, Friday (6/24).
Those participants are divided into 39 groups of art and cultural attraction from general people such as Wayang Orang Barat, Betawi Cultural Institution, Aceh Ethnic, Java Art Organization, and others. There will be also 23 decorated cars from Dept. of Public Works, Dept. of Fire Service and Calamity tackling, Monas UPT, Dept. of Health, Dept. of Social, and many more from private and SOEs companies.
Several communities such as cavalry, antique car, Harley Davidson, and coastal community. Routes for car parade are City Hall, MH Thamrin, HI Roundabout, and ended at National Monument.
"Other provisions such as NTB, Aceh, North Sumatera, West Java, and embassy will also enliven this event. Stay alert at 3 pm to 5.30 pm. This event cost Rp 800 million," she added.
